2026 Cross Country Season Information
12 May by Carol Timmins
Warmups are held for each age group before their race, with the Under 6’s starting at 8:45. You don’t need to participate but please go to warmups as this is the marshalling area and helps to determine if age groups can run together or need to be split.
It is important to note that due to differences in each of the venues there will be fluctuations in the distances and athlete’s times from week to week and in the interest of athlete safety, the courses may need to be changed on the day. Cross Country is a winter sport and will go ahead if it is wet and raining. The number of races held each week also depends on the venue, the number of athletes in attendance and the safety of the athletes. If you arrive late your child may miss their race. There is a start time of 9am for the 500m race and no scheduled start time for the rest of the races.
Cross Country is no different to running unlaned races on the track – athletes who jostle or obstruct another athlete and impede their progress may be disqualified or results may be adjusted. Everyone should be able to complete the course without being unfairly impeded.
To access results, course maps, program and information on your smartphone, please join the Division One Cross Country App. Download the free Stack Team App from your App store, sign up and log into your account, search for Division One Cross Country and request to join. Results from Saturday are available on the App.
To be eligible for end of season awards, registered athletes need to compete on 6 Division One competition weeks – Region and State events are not counted.
Full Centre/Club uniform with CBA nametag and Coles logo is required to be worn each week. This includes correct shorts – no footy shorts or shorts with pockets. Spikes / Footy boots are not allowed.
Please contact your Centre if you require a new name tag or uniform.
Dogs are not permitted at LAVic events, so please leave your 4-legged friends at home (assistance dogs excepted).
